Partnerships and Distribution are one of the seven strategic pillars for Access Forex. This relates to not only being able to tap into a broader market, but our ability to cater to the evolving needs of our customers.

Access Forex, South Africa has partnered with TerraPay to launch seven new remittance corridors between South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Kenya and Mozambique. Starting this month, customers in South Africa will be able to remit directly into some of Africa’s largest mobile money operators, including Safaricom, MTN, and Airtel. Terrapay is a crucial partner in our expansion into mobile money services. As a global payments network, TerraPay provides a comprehensive platform that enables seamless cross-border transactions and integrates efficiently with various mobile money operators.

The total value of remittances in Africa reached nearly $100 billion in 2023, with $20 billion being intra-Africa flows. This expansion establishes our SA business amongst global players who offer multiple routes for immigrants wanting to do money transfers back home.

As a complement to our existing USSD and mobile app channels, Access Forex SA will also soon be launching a WhatsApp Chatbot for remitters in South Africa. The chatbot will alleviate some of the challenges experienced by our clients as a result of network and data limitations.
